Every day we all see peoples faces . . .
Faces that smile.
Faces that laugh.
Faces that hide.
Everyday we see people, but what we don’t see is what they feel . . .
Everyone hides something. Some of them have something that hurts to hide . . .

Mum
Dad
Brother
Uncle
Cousin
Sister
Friends
Aunty

For some . . .
Their hurting . . .
Is too much . . .

Depression

No-one can tell who suffers, no-one understands how much pain they're in . . .
Only those who suffer do . . .
Comfort is better than help. Help can make things worse.

Depression does not discriminate
Every
Race
Gender
Age
And
Social class
Can be affected

It affects the state of mind, the willingness to continue . . .
And when it hits hard . . .
Circumstances become a lot worse . . .
People look for a way of coping . . .
And for some this coping . . .
Is harmful . . .

Some turn to self harm.
Cutting.
Burning.
Bashing.
The intentional harm to oneself.
But this isn't to be judged.

Every sufferer has their own way of coping . . .

"I scar myself you see
Because I wish I wasn't me"

Some say cutting helps them feel free . . .
Others say they feel in control . . .
Or they are cutting out their problems . . .

Some people are ashamed of what they do so they hide it . . .
They don't want people to know . . .

It is not a cry for help . . .
It is not attention seeking . . .
If it was then why go to extremes to cover the scars . . ?
Scars will never fade . . .
Physically . . .
Or mentally . . .

Self harm isn't the only way people cope with depression . . .
Anorexia.
Bulimia Nervosa.
People don't eat to cope.

And for some sufferers it becomes an obsession . . .
Even life threatening . . .
For some it's too late and irreversible damage occurs . . .

Depression hurts.

Depression harms.

Depression kills.

But even when it seems at it's worse . . .
People turn to something else . . .
Suicide.
